Hey, I'm

Laura!

M.S. - Exercise Physiology and Biology Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP)
Laura McDonald, MS, CEP, is a seasoned Exercise Physiologist with over a decade of experience in health, exercise science, and human performance. She holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Biology from the University of Texas at El Paso and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist. As the founder of E2O Denver Health + Performance (formerly Laura McDonald Fit), Laura specializes in optimizing physical performance, nutrition habits, and overall well-being through personalized, results-driven programs.

Laura’s passion for physiology was sparked during her time as a young athlete, where she quickly realized the importance of understanding how the body responds to exercise and stress. That passion led her to work in cardiac rehabilitation, where she helped post open heart surgery patients regain strength and confidence through movement. She witnessed firsthand the power of small, consistent changes—patients who once struggled to walk two minutes on a treadmill were soon walking 20, and those lifting three-pound weights proudly progressed to ten. This experience solidified her belief in the transformative power of exercise and the impact of everyday habits on long-term health.

With extensive experience in cardiopulmonary exercise testing, research, and health coaching, Laura has refined her expertise in exercise prescription and lifestyle optimization. She takes a holistic approach to health—focusing on balance, natural movement, and nutrient-dense foods. She believes that science-backed training can be adapted for any age and any stage of life, helping clients integrate sustainable fitness habits into their busy routines.

As a mom of three girls (all under 7!), Laura understands that not everyone has the same 24 hours in a day—and that’s okay! Her coaching philosophy is built on realistic, science-based strategies that empower her clients to take control of their health, gain valuable insight into how their bodies function, and ultimately move, feel, and perform better for life.
